Driving From New York City
- Go to the George Washington Bridge (top level), and stay right as you cross the bridge.
- Take the first exit (Palisades Parkway North), and continue on the Palisades.
- You’ll see a sign for NY Thruway North (to Albany), and then a sign for exit 9-E. Continue past 9-E, and take the next exit, 9-W (to Albany). This will turn into the NY Thruway North (87-N).
- Take 87-N to exit 16 (Harriman).
- Turn right onto Route 32, and continue on Rt. 32 for 10 miles.
- Turn right to Cornwall Route 107.
- Go to traffic circle, and take third branch on the right(Hasbrouck Avenue; it crosses the small white bridge). Follow Hasbrouck as it traces the golf course uphill.
- Turn left on Ridge Road (top of hill at golf course). Ridge Road becomes Duncan Avenue.
- The Grail is on the right-hand side, approximately 1 mile after turning left onto Ridge Rd. Look for a small white “The Grail” sign, and make a sharp right turn into the driveway of the Phoenix.
or, if you prefer (sometimes avoids city traffic):
- Get on to the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) in one of two ways:
- take the Triborough Bridge
- take the FDR (East River Drive) North, exit from the right or center land onto the Willis Avenue Bridge. Bear left, and turn left at exit onto the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) North.
- The Deegan becomes the New York Thruway (I-87) and goes across the Tappan Zee Bridge.
- Continue on I-87 to Exit 16. See GWB directions to continue.

Driving From Connecticut
- Take Rt. 84 West from Connecticut.
- Get off at Exit 10 (9W South to Newburgh). Turn right onto 9-W, and continue on 9W South through the city of Newburgh and beyond.
- After 3-4 miles you will see "Pier 9 Restaurant” on the right as you go down a hill.
- As you climb the next hill, look for a small sign, on the right, for Route 218 (Cornwall). Exit onto 218.
- After less than a mile, you will come to a red blinking light and stop sign. Turn left at the blinking light.
- Go a short distance and turn right onto Duncan Avenue (across from bandstand).
- The Grail is on the left-hand side of Duncan Avenue, approx. 1/2 mile from the bandstand.

Driving From New Jersey
- Take the Garden State Parkway or Route 287 to the NY State Thruway North (follow signs for Albany).
- Take 87-N to exit 16 (Harriman).
- Turn right onto Route 32, and continue on Rt. 32 for 10 miles.
- Turn right to Cornwall Route 107.

- Take the NY State Thruway (87) South to exit 17 (Newburgh/Beacon).
- After going through tollbooth, take left-hand ramp towards 17K. At light, make a left onto 17K East.
- Take 17K East through downtown Newburgh, and stay in the right lane. At junction with 9W, make a right turn onto 9W South.
- After approximately 3miles you will see "Pier 9 Restaurant” on the right as you go down a hill.
- As you climb the next hill, look for a small sign, on the right, for Route 218 (Cornwall). Exit onto 218.

Public Transportation Options from NYC
By Train:
- Fom Penn Station, Metro-North and NJ Transit offer combined service on lines west of the Hudson. Take
Metro-North/NJ Transit (http://www.mta.info) to Salisbury Mills- Cornwall Station (NJ Transit from NYC Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, where you can change trains to the Main and Bergen Co. Line, which terminates at Port Jervis)
- This schedule is less frequent than Metro-North to Beacon (see below), but is cheaper (particularly round trip and senior tickets), and closer to The Grail (approximately 10 minutes).

or:
- From Grand Central Station or 125th St., NYC (http://www.mta.info or 1-800-METRO INFO) take Metro-North Railroad (Poughkeepsie Line) to Beacon, N.Y.
- Get off and walk in the direction of the rear of the train.
- To meet your pickup or taxi, go down the steps, turn right, and go up steps to come out on the river side of the platform. There is a public pay phone available. (Note that taxis will sometimes wait on the
side away from the river).
- Riders can arrange a taxi pickup by calling 845-561-8330. Taxi fare is set by the NY State Taxi & Limousine Commission and is
about $20 to cross two zones to the Grail Retreat Center. If you take the free bus shuttle to Newburgh bus station, or
take the Newburgh-Beacon ferry which runs during rush hours and costs $1 per ride, you will be in the same zone as the Grail, so taxi fares will
be significantly less.

By Bus:
- Shortline Bus Service runs from Port Authority (8th Ave. at 41 St.) to Vail’s Gate, NY. (http://www.shortlinebus.com or 1-800-631-8405).
- This ride is approximately 1.5 hours, and Vail’s Gate is about 5 minutes from The Grail at Cornwall.
- Riders can arrange for taxi pickup by calling 845-561-8330.
