Grail at Cornwall-On-Hudson

Sponsored by the United States Grail, the Grail Center in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, has been a retreat, conference, and educational center since 1979. The Center has held workshops open to Grail members and the public on a broad range of topics, from the environment to spirituality, political issues, and personal growth. The community of staff and volunteers who live on site experience the benefits and challenges of living in an intentional community?orking together, planning and making decisions cooperatively, sharing resources, living gently with the earth, and sharing an active spiritual and study life. We are enriched by hosting many international Grail members who visit the United States or who resource or participate in Grail programs at Cornwall.

Efforts to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable use of resources in Cornwall include a 25 year-history of maintaining an organic garden, recycling, composting food scraps, and limiting the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers on our forty-five acre wooded property. In 2000, an environmentally friendly staff residence called Gaia House was built, constructed with ?reen materials and designed to easily convert to solar power to meet the Grail? goal of building for a healthy environment. We are working to receive funding to install solar panels and hold solar workshops to educate the public about the many benefits of sustainable forms of energy.

The Grail movement has a 75-year history of working to give women the tools and support to create change in their lives and communities. The Cornwall-on-Hudson center is an extension of this vision, providing vital space for education, skill-building, networking, support, and renewal for community organizers and spiritual seekers from all over the world. We welcome visitors interested in social/women? issues, the environment, intentional communities, and spirituality. There are many volunteer opportunities available.
